Brambles is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). The UNGC is a call to companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions that advance societal goals. Brambles is also a member of many Global Compact Networks around the world.

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
Brambles has achieved ‘Comprehensive’ status with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). We produce the world's most trusted and widely used standards for sustainability reporting, the GRI Guidelines, which enable organizations to measure and understand their most critical impacts on the environment, society and the economy. Thousands of reporters in over 90 countries use GRI's Standards – a free public good – for their reporting.

Environmental Policy
Relevant policies can be viewed in the Group's Code of Conduct, which can be downloaded from Brambles website in more than 20 languages. The Environmental Policy is under Schedule 5, page 21 of the Code of Conduct, it is also backed by the ‘Zero Harm Charter’. Brambles Annual Report contains sections on operational and financial performance, treasury, risk, corporate governance statement, directors report. In addition to the Brambles Annual Report, Brambles also produce their Annual ‘Sustainability Review’. This report outlines environmental performance against target, also any other initiatives that have been carried out throughout the year.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
Brambles preference is to procure timber that has achieved Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification. FSC has been recognised as an international organisation that provides a system for different stakeholders interested in forest issues to work towards responsible forest management. In providing this system, FSC promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests.

Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
Brambles preference is to procure timber that has achieved Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody certification. PEFC recognises the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) as equivalent standards. PEFC is the world's largest forest certification system. Our credible standards seek to transform the way forests are managed globally – and locally - to ensure that all of us can enjoy the environmental, social and economic benefits that forests offer.

Brambles has achieved Gold Recognition Level based on our EcoVadis CSR rating in December 2015 for Canada and Europe. The EcoVadis methodology framework assesses the policies and measures put in place as well as the reporting published by companies with regards to environmental, labour practices & human rights, fair business practices and sustainable procurement issues.
